A Sweet Pea that carpets the ground with a kaleidoscope of color. Unlike other non-climbing varieties it does not have tendrils (the things sweet use to grip for climbing) so the blooms and plant remain neater. It received 14 Awards for excellence from the Scottish and National Sweet Pea Societies and the R.H.S. Very versatile for beds, borders, excellent ground cover and windowboxes. Although they do not climb they grow over objects happily. Flowers summer. Height 30-38cm (12-15in).
| Sowing time: | Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost; outdoors sow early to midspring zones 3-7, fall zones 8-10. |

Germinate at 20-30C (68-86F) on the surface of a free draining, damp seed sowing mix, 3 seeds per 7.5cm (Sin) pot. Apply a layer of sowing mix 1cm (½in) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container in a plastic bag until after germination which takes 10-21 days.
Spring sowings can be sown outdoors, 2.5cm (1 in) deep in drills 7.5cm (3in) apart.
Gradually acclimate plants sown indoors to cooler conditions before planting out in spring when the ground has warmed, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart. Pinch out the growing point once the first or second pair of leaves has opened.
Water freely during dry weather and apply well rotted manure occasionally. Regular removal of spent flowers will encourage further blooms.
Harmful if eaten.
