| Sowing time: | Outdoors in early spring as soon as soil is workable zone 2-7, fall zone 8-10 |
|---|---|
| Sowing depth: | 6mm (¼ in) deep in drills 25cm (10in) apart. |
Sow outdoors in a well prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly. Keep the soil damp until germination takes place and thin out the seedlings if crowded when large enough to handle.
They can also be sown under glass in late winter for flowering the same season. Germination takes 10-30 days at 13C (55F). Prick out into pots as they resent any root disturbance.
Transplant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart into flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following year. They prefer full sun and well drained soil, but will grow well in most soils.
