Sow outdoors where they are to flower
For earlier flowering or for containers, sow in early spring at a temperature of 13-16C (55-60F) and transplant into 7.5cm (3in) pots.
Thin out the young plants to 15cm (6in) apart when the seedlings are large enough to handle. If sown indoors, gradually acclimate to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost. They flower most freely in full sun and poor dryish soils. Before planting in containers make sure they are well rooted in their pots.
