This yellow cucumber has a crisp, crunchy peel and more bite than normal cucumbers. When the cucumber is cream coloured with faint stripes, the taste is sweet with an undertone of fresh cucumber taste, whilst the inner flesh has a delicate green line. As it ripens, the colour of the cucumber changes dramatically to a warm orange. The flesh becomes white and the taste a little more sharp. The fruit is then best cooked. Ideal grown under glass.

Germinate in7.5cm (3in) pots at 20-30C (68-86F) on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Apply a layer of compost or vermiculite, 1cm (½in) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which takes 7-10 days.
Transplant seedlings at the 2-3 leaf stage into 13cm (5in) pots. Plant out into 23-25cm (9-10in) pots, 46cm (18in) apart, or 2-3 plants per growbag, at a minimum temperature of 15C (60F).
Train along wire, allowing the main shoot to reach the tip. Pinch out growing point and allow two shoots to trail downwards. Keep moist but not wet. Apply shading as required and provide a humid atmosphere by regularly spraying or damping down pathways. Regular picking will encourage further fruiting,
