Flower Pouch |
The largest Petunia flowers we have ever seen, bred on from those available over 100 years ago! Robust plants produce huge 10-15cm (4-6in) wide exotic looking frilly blooms, in an attractive mixture of pinks, reds and purples, each with rich veining and attractive dark eyes. An eye-catching addition to borders or containers.
Height: 30-35cm (12-14in).
| Sowing time: | February to April. |
|---|---|
| Sowing depth: | Lightly cover the seed with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. |
Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 21-25C (70-75F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 10-21 days.
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart, or plant into containers.
For best results, provide a light, well-drained soil in full sun.
