A Californian Poppy with a difference! From an early sowing it transplants without setback, flowering in May and still smothered in wondrous golden-yellow flowers in September. Growing to only 9in high with amazing blue-green foliage and semi-trailing stems up to 24in long, naturally suiting all types of container and ground cover. In sheltered areas, plants may be perennial. Bred by T&M, it has also been awarded a Fleuroselect Quality Mark.
Sow thinly, 3mm (1/8in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart in well cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Thin out seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart. For spring/summer flowering pot plants sow in a cool greenhouse or conservatory at 15-18C (60-65F) in the previous late summer/early autumn. Germination takes 14-21 days.
Grow cool in full light and water sparingly. Plant out in spring after all risk of frost. For cutting pick when the blooms are still tightly curled.
