Begonia Nonstop Rose Petticoat F1 |
These exquisite begonias are the premier basket and container plant. With pendulous habit and an abundance of large, mostly fully double flowers, the selection contains some delightful picotees. They flower early, are uniform with vigour, and have good mildew resistance. Well worth the money.
| Sowing time: | 3 to 4 months before last frost. Do not sow before late winter when day length is 12 hours or more. |

Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 75-80F (25-27C). Surface sow on a peat/sand mix seed compost and do not exclude light. A soil temperature of 80F (27C) gives best results. Keep the soil moisture high, the surface of the soil should never dry out. Germination takes from 15-60 days.
Transplant seedlings in small clumps, handling carefully, preferably into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in cool well lit conditions. Pot on finally into 15cm (6in) pots or plant in hanging baskets. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out, after all risk of frost has gone and the weather is mild.
Plant in full sun or part shade. Prefers a moist, well drained soil.
