Sowing Instructions

Sowing time:Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost; outdoors sow early to midspring zones 3-7, fall zones 8-10.

Sow indoors at 20-25C (68-77F) on the surface of a free draining, damp seed sowing mix, 3 seeds per 7.5cm (3 inch) pot. Cover with a layer of sowing mix 1cm (½ inch) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container in a plastic bag until after germination which takes 10-21 days. Spring sowings can be sown outdoors, 2.5cm (1 inches) deep in drills 7.5cm (3 inches) apart.

Growing Instructions

Gradually acclimate plants sown indoors indoors to outdoor conditions before planting out in spring when the ground has warmed, 23cm (9 inches) apart.

Aftercare Instructions

For best results, provide a rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Pinch out growing point once the first or second pair of leaves has opened. Water plants freely in dry weather and cut flowers regularly to prolong flowering period, an application of manure may also be beneficial during growth.
