Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 60-65F (15-18C). Germination usually takes 7-21 days.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. When well rooted, plant 23cm (9in) apart in nursery rows and plant out into final position in autumn or spring 30cm (12in) apart in full sun.
Prefers a moist, well drained soil.
