Supersweet

A unique albino sweetcorn which produces excellent quality 20cm (8 in) cobs with 16-18 rows of extra tender and sweet, pure-white kernels, filling it up to the tip. Delicious eaten raw, straight from the plant or cooked in the traditional way.

Sowing Instructions

Sowing time:April to May
Sowing depth:4cm

Sow seed 4cm (1½in) deep in 7cm (3in) pots of seed compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at 18-20C (64-68F) until after germination which takes 7-10 days. Can also be sown direct outdoors once the soil has warmed, sow two seeds, 4cm (1½in) deep, 30cm (12in) apart, and in rows about 45cm (18in) apart.

Growing Instructions

Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for a few days before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.

Aftercare Instructions

Keep well watered and mulch during dry periods.
