Comments: Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 60-70F. Sow in well drained compost, just covering the seed with compost. Sowing Time: Mid January to Mid March. Germination takes 30-365 days. Either seal the seed container after sowing in a propagator and place in a fridge (not freezer), observe regularly and remove once seeds start to germinate, or sow immediately. Place container in a cold frame and if the seeds have not germinated by late spring place in the refrigerator as described above. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in a cold frame and plant out the following spring into a nursery bed and grow on for 3-4 years, then 3-4' apart in their permanent positions in full sun.
