Southern Grove Kale
Zones 7-10
While growing kale in hot weather has its challenges, this simple-to-grow superfood can easily be grown in Zones 7 through 10. Extremely hot weather can turn kale hot and bitter. However, southern gardeners have plenty of success planting kale during the cooler periods of the year, such as early spring or late summer. Avoid planting during the hottest months to prevent the plants from struggling with extreme heat.
